WATCH: Rapper Rick Ross, who’s real name is William Leonard Roberts, appeared in Miami-Dade felony bond court on a charge of domestic violence battery by strangulation. The accusation comes from a former girlfriend of the rapper’s who says he choked and beat her in an early morning incident last month.
Rick Ross arranged a surrender to Miami Beach Police through his attorney and was then brought to jail.
Despite a request from his attorney for some sort of special treatment for his celebrity client, Judge Mindy Glazer said she didn’t know who he was and would “treat him fairly” just like everyone else. He was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and can leave jail on a $5,000 bond.
