The fisherman that caught it demanded N1M and food items for the community before releasing the Turtle but Greenfingers said he didn't have such an amount to give. He later raised money to buy the community foodstuffs.
A STORY:
Today, it’s 7am and I get called out for a rescue - yesterday I was so angry that a turtle was killed in Ilaje Community. I rushed to the location to see a majestic Leatherback Sea Turtle - beautiful but bound by ropes as it had struggled all night. I quickly engaged:

We were called to a sighting of the Leatherback sea turtle and once we arrived at the community, I beheld the majestic Leatherback - thank God it was still alive but with a few bruises
Had to locate the fisherman and we spoke to him - he asked for a million Naira 😩😩😩 but we had to educate him and promised to replace his broken and damaged nets
Guys please we need your help:
We want to buy food items for the community and fishers
Things like rice, noodles and some protein, oil, tomato and to get new nets for the fishers
These are the conditions
WE DID IT!!!
We were able to convince them and promised to get them food items.
This feeling was the best I’ve ever had in a while
Seeing everyone turn from butcher to saviour was the highlight
Let’s push this far and get Nigeria on the map for victory and not death always
