Please listen let me tell you, you can see a team standing in front of you.
I am an Engineer, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Look at my Deputy and Acting Governor beside me, he is a lawyer and a former Attorney-General of this state.
My Secretary to the State Government, a Professor of Economics, not Professor for mouth.
Head of Service, PhD
We brought our first 11 to serve Oyo state... After seeing all these, if you like go and vote for someone who calls himself a lawyer but has never appeared in court before, who doesn't even know how a case looks like.
No administration has employed teachers in this state more than we have done. So, we just don't talk because we want to play politics. The other one that says he wants to create a Ministry of kokoro alate!
Governance is serious business. Here is not a place to joke, because the destiny of millions rest on it. I had not done six months as Governor when COVID hit. They were all on tv and radio saying Seyi wants to kill all of us but we looked at the data, we looked at the signs and the logic behind it and insisted we won't lockdown Oyo State. Schools were open, markets were open. If we had wanted to play politics, we will have lockdown the state and go with the flow. This is a place for serious decision-making.
They said I left, and handed over to my Deputy. I am running to be the President of Nigeria because I have the capacity. They said they are on leave, they are trampling on the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If the President is on leave, why hasn't he handed over to his Vice President, we have just done it in Oyo state. The state is better for it because it fosters teamwork. This is not an administration where if the head is not around, nothing happens. God can take anybody any time but the team must be ready to take responsibility at all times. I have been away for one month yet there are people handling the responsibilities. So tell them to stop trampling on the constitution. They raised their hands at Eagles Square and said "I will abide by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria", so when you are on leave please hand over to your Vice.

We are going through a challenging period economically. I put out a video, yes, our FAAC has gone up but when I came in here the first salary bill I signed was ₦4.5b but today the salary bill is ₦18b. In all of these, the minimum wage then was ₦18000, and today it's ₦80000 but the ₦18000 then can even buy more than what the ₦80000 will get you today. That's the kind of voodoo economics they brought to us. So, we have to sit down, NLC, because our people are challenged economically. The resources are limited but the wage award which ended in September I will extend for another three months. Our subsidy on transport we will continue with it and so again, I want thank all of you especially the workers for your dedication , commitment and support.
