The Bauchi police arrest man identified as 27-year-old Muhammad Garba Ladan following the tragic death of his four-month-old daughter in Zirami village, Azare. Command officials apprehended the suspect after the infant’s 20-year-old mother reported finding her child unresponsive in their residence. Medical doctors at General Hospital, Azare, later examined the victim and confirmed death by strangulation.
Furthermore, the state command confirmed that investigators have taken the father into custody for interrogation.
Circumstances surrounding the tragic discovery
Police operational reports indicate that the mother left her sleeping daughter at home before heading to a nearby house.
First, the mother returned home shortly after 10:00 PM and observed her husband leaving the bedroom. Next, she entered the room and discovered four-month-old Fatimah Muhammad unconscious and not breathing. In addition, the mother alerted neighbors who assisted in rushing the infant to the nearest medical facility. Finally, attending medical personnel certified the infant dead upon arrival.

Investigators revealed that the mother provided critical statements detailing previous threats against the child.
However, the complainant alleged that the suspect had previously made multiple unsuccessful attempts to harm the infant. As a result, homicide detectives attached to the Azare Division moved swiftly to secure the scene and arrest the suspect
