Emmanuel Akwuobi aka Deriko is a 19 year old student who used computer generated images to pretend that he was a wealthy and older man that livea abroad. A lot of Twitter users fell for his deception.
Earlier this year there were allegations that the musician Chike was having an affair with the wife of television presenter Frank Edoho. A known troll called Fimlex tweeted that he heard that Chike has slept with another person's wife and Deriko replied with the name of Tony Elumelu's wife.
Deriko has been arrested, arraigned on cybercrimes charges and remanded at Ikoyi Prison.
His family has released several videos to plead with Tony Elumelu to forgive him. They say that he has final exams and might not be able to graduate if he misses the exams.

Four days have passed, but the regret in Deriko’s heart has not gone away. He is only 19 years old, the fifth of eight children, and he is painfully aware that one moment of terrible judgment has brought so much worry and sorrow upon his family.
He knows he was wrong. He has no excuse for what he said, and he is deeply sorry.
Today, we are not asking you to forget what happened. We are simply asking you to find a place in your heart to forgive him.
Sir, please remember that behind this mistake is a young life that is still being shaped. Give him the chance to learn, to grow, and to prove that this terrible mistake does not have to define the man he becomes.
Sir, from the depths of our hearts, we plead: please have mercy on Deriko. Please forgive our son.
