Al-Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena has reportedly decided to represent Nigeria at international level after holding talks with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle.
The 19-year-old forward, who has represented France at youth level, is understood to have been convinced by Chelle’s plans for his future with the Super Eagles. Ilenikhena has been closely monitored by the Nigeria coach as part of efforts to build a younger generation for the national team.
The talented striker has already made a name for himself in European football, featuring for Amiens, Royal Antwerp and AS Monaco before moving to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad.
His decision could provide Nigeria with another exciting attacking option alongside the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman and Tolu Arokodare.
