A few days ago it was reported that over $1000 was stolen from Esther Okoronkwo's things at the Super Falcons' hotel in Morocco. The Falcons are in the country for the Women's African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Moroccan police have now arrested a suspect in connection with the theft.
However, Moroccan fans have invaded Esther's social media pages and they posted monkey emojis and have been creating all kinds of negative stories about her.
One Moroccan journalist claimed that she made up the story in order to get money because the NFF haven't paid her.
She had to turn off comments on some of her Instagram posts.
She posted this message on her Instagram stories:

Other Super Falcons players have rallied round her as Moroccans continue to hurl abuse at her on the internet.
