The Faidherbe Research Brigade (BR), under the Dakar gendarmerie company, has dismantled an international hard drug trafficking network. The operation led to the arrest of four suspects, including two Nigerian nationals and the daughter of Mame Makhtar Guèye of Jamra, along with her boyfriend, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.
It all began when the police received information about an international cocaine trafficking network run by foreigners. An undercover officer contacted FB Guèye, alias "Rose," a 25-year-old woman, to order one gram of cocaine. It was under these circumstances that she was arrested around 3:00 a.m. with the same quantity in a furnished apartment near the VDN (Voie de Dégagement Nord).
When questioned, the woman admitted to owning the seized drugs. She stated that she had acquired the illicit merchandise from her boyfriend, RS Guissé. On the instructions of the police, she placed an order for one gram of cocaine with her boyfriend. He was arrested under the same circumstances. A search of his room yielded a small quantity of cocaine.
During his interrogation, RS Guissé admitted to being a drug user before placing an order for 2 grams with his supplier, Nigerian national KM Ogbu, who was arrested with the same quantity. A thorough examination of his phone led to another 2-gram order being placed with his compatriot, M. Nwafor. Nwafor was apprehended in Dieuppeul. During questioning, he named his Nigerian supplier. The latter, already identified, remains at large.
Thus, the four suspects, including two Nigerian nationals, were taken into custody for conspiracy, possession and use of cocaine, and international hard drug trafficking.
Following an investigation conducted over the past few days, the four suspects were brought before the public prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar today. The case is likely to have further ramifications.
According to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb, a well-known private television presenter may be implicated.
The national gendarmerie, under the command of General Martin Faye, is intensifying its actions to fight crime and delinquency in Senegal.
