Man Storms MTN Office After ₦45k Router Data Finishes In 4 Days

Nigerian Storms MTN Office After ₦45,000 "Unlimited" Router Data Finishes in Just 4 Days

A Nigerian man has gone viral after sharing a video of himself confronting staff inside an MTN "Y'ello" office over what he described as the shocking exhaustion of his ₦45,000 router data plan in just four days.

In the viral clip, the visibly frustrated customer questioned how a package h

e said was presented to him as "unlimited" could be completely used up within such a short period.

> "Where do you want me to get ₦45,000 to recharge again? It is becoming too much despite you telling me it's unlimited. How can ₦45,000 finish in just four days?" he asked.

The man repeatedly demanded an explanation from the MTN staff, insisting they check their system and show him exactly where and how his ₦45,000 subscription had been used within only four days.

A member of staff was seen struggling to explain the situation as the visibly angry customer continued pressing for answers. He questioned how a supposedly unlimited plan could expire so quickly and urged the staff to verify the usage records on their system.

"We are Nigerians; we shouldn't be doing this to ourselves," he said, expressing his frustration during the exchange.

According to the man, he visited the MTN office to demand answers after discovering that the data on his router had been exhausted far sooner than he expected.

The video has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences with MTN broadband and 5G data plans. While some users claimed their data appeared to deplete unusually fast, others advised customers to carefully read the terms and fair usage policies attached to broadband packages before subscribing.

Some commenters also suggested that multiple connected devices, automatic software updates, cloud backups, high-definition streaming, or background app activity could contribute to rapid data consumption, while others insisted they had experienced unexplained data depletion.

MTN has not publicly responded to the specific viral video at the time of writing.

The incident has reignited conversations online about data transparency, fair usage policies, and whether customers are given enough information about the conditions attached to broadband plans.
