Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has recorded a significant milestone in its student leadership history following the emergence of Mariam Kofoworola Ona-Olapo as the 11th Senate President of the 10th Student Union Assembly. With her election, she becomes the first female Senate President in the history of the KWASU Student Union.
The leadership transition took place during the inaugural sitting of the newly constituted Senate Council, where principal officers of the 10th Assembly were elected to oversee the affairs of the legislative arm of the Student Union.

The session was presided over by Ahmad Ayomide Afolabi, who previously served as the 9th Senate President of the 8th Senate Council and later as the 10th Senate President of the 9th Senate Council.
