Sunday Dare: My Mother Sold Akara, I Carried Bananas On My Head

Look At Me Today, My Mother Sold Akara, I Carried Bananas On My Head To Markets In Plateau- Dare

A video that was posted on the official X account of Mic on The Podcast on Saturday, June 27, 2026 has captured the moment Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Public Communication was saying he has sold Akara before.

This came after the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu listed some businesses that Nigerians can begin with small capital.

In the video that surfaced online, Sunday Dare stated that there is nothing bad in selling Akara or roasting corn. He said he hawked bananas to several markets in Jos.

My mother sold akara and bananas. I carried bananas on my head to the market in Jos. My mother sold oranges, and through this, they were able to train me. If it was right 60 years ago, why not today? What is wrong with that? People are missing the First lady's point, her point was that whatever you are doing have some entrepreneurial skill.
