THE ATTEMPTED SUBVERSION OF THE ALIMOSHO NDC HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PRIMARY

The unfolding situation in the Alimosho Federal Constituency demands immediate attention, moral clarity, and decisive leadership. What should have been a straightforward affirmation of the people’s will has become another disturbing example of internal subversion that threatens the credibility of our party @NigeriaNDCHQ and everything it stands for at this moment.

Let us be clear; @ifesalakooffice won the primary. He followed the rules, submitted himself to the party-mandated process, and earned the mandate of the people and was given the ticket. To now strip him of his victory and hand the ticket to another is not only unjust, it is politically reckless and indefensible.

An Admonition to Leadership

We call upon the National Chairman, H.E @iamHSDickson and our presidential candidate and my leader H.E @PeterObi to intervene immediately.

Y.E Senator Dickson, as the custodian of party integrity, the responsibility to uphold the rules rests squarely on your shoulders. The NDC cannot preach fairness and the promise of a new Nigeria while practicing impunity within its own walls.

Y.E Peter Obi, the whole nation is no stranger to your reputation as a different kind of conscientious political leader who captures the yearning and aspirations of all Nigerians for a new paradigm in our polity. As our flag bearer and leader, your voice carries so much weight.

You have built your identity on justice and the rule of law; we urge you to reaffirm those values now. If the NDC claims to be the alternative for a new Nigeria, it cannot tolerate the same old manipulation tactics it claims to oppose.

The Elephant in the Room

We must address the internal sabotage being orchestrated by opportunistic elements seeking to hijack the OK movement to settle personal vendettas. For clarity, the Obidient Ninjas started the OK movement campaign, just like the “Peter Obi or Nothing” campaign before it. We did all these as a pressure group within the context of the ADC coalition talks.

The OK drive was not meant to rival the broader Obidient movement, nor was it intended to function as an independent political vehicle. It is deeply concerning that certain individuals have attempted to misappropriate these efforts to undermine our collective mission. Such actions, including attempts to bypass established processes , steal Ife’s ticket and force someone else onto the ticket, are anti-democratic and very inimical to the unity of our party.

Movements are not personal fiefdoms, and party tickets are not private property. If the party allows this sabotage to stand, it sends a dangerous message that loyalty is irrelevant, hard work is meaningless, and the party can be captured by the whims of bad faith actors.

The NDC cannot claim to be the future of our politics while repeating the darkest habits of its predecessors. This is a seminal moment and a defining test of character and leadership.

Ife Salako won, the people spoke, and the mandate must stand; anything less is injustice.
