HOUSE of Representatives SPEAKER, TAJUDEEN ABBAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES FRED AGBEDI AS MINORITY LEADER. Agbedi represents Ekeremo-Sagbama Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State from South-South Nigeria.
OTHER PRINCIPAL OFFICERS IN THE MINORITY LEADERSHIP INCLUDES ABDUSAMMAD DASUKI, DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER AND MANUR SORO AS MINORITY WHIP.
Members of the G-60 opposition caucus had earlier stormed the plenary on Thursday morning
demanding that the House leadership address the minority leadership position, threatening that failure will lead them to ensuring that plenary is put on hold.Leadership thrives when every voice has a seat at the table.
Today, I officially announced the appointment of Fred Agbedi as the new Minority Leader of the 10th House of Representatives.
This development reflects our commitment to strengthening parliamentary democracy, fostering constructive engagement, and ensuring that the House continues to function as a platform where diverse perspectives contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
I congratulate Hon. Agbedi on this important responsibility and look forward to working with the Minority Caucus in advancing the collective interests of the Nigerian people.
Together, we will continue to build a House defined by dialogue, inclusiveness, and service to the nation. 🇳🇬
