Musk highlights Chinese railway station spanning 170 football fields!
Elon Musk, ranked the world's richest man by Forbes with a net worth of US$807.7 billion, spotlights China train station's vast multi-story structure, sprawling glass-roofed halls and integrated transport network, attracting more than 56 million views online.
One widely circulated comment under the video read, "Welcome to the future! China now operates the world's most extensive high-speed rail network."
The station in Chongqing's Nan'an District commenced operations in June 2025 alongside the opening of the Chongqing East - Qianjiang section of the Chongqing - Xiamen high-speed railway. The line is designed to support trains traveling at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, according to Chinese news site CGTN.
The station houses 15 platforms and 29 tracks, built to handle up to 16,000 passengers every hour, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The station building spans eight floors with a total construction area of 1.22 million square meters, equivalent to 170 standard football fields. Its roof covers approximately 120,000 square meters and weighs 16,500 tonnes.
What is most shocking about this world's largest railway station is the fact that it was built in just 38 months on a mountain! 38 months that countries like Nigeria would have wasted in clearing the site after over inflating the project cost to enable government officials steal more than enough through the project cry
