Nigeria Youths in Politics Condemns Jos Killings, Call for Justice
A socio-political organization, Nigeria Youths in Politics (NYP) has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the recent attacks in Jos which led to loss of lives, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.
In an statement issued on Tuesday by National Working Committee, the youth body strongly condemned all forms of violence, noting that such acts threaten the peace and unity necessary for national development.
The group in the statement signed by its Director of Media, Dr. Alex Nwankwo, extended its heartfelt condolences to families and communities affected by the attack, emphasizing that no society can thrive amid fear, division, and avoidable bloodshed.
It called on the security agencies to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act and ensure that justice is served swiftly in line with the nation's extant laws.
“As a youth-driven body, we believe that the future of Nigeria depends on peace, unity, and mutual respect among all people, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences,” the statement read.
The the youth organization called on relevant authorities to take swift and decisive action to restore calm in the affected areas, ensure justice for victims, and strengthen measures to protect lives and property.
The NYP urged Nigerian youths to remain calm and law-abiding during these challenging periods, cautioning against the spread of misinformation and encouraged dialogue which it described as a tool for resolving conflicts.
Reaffirming its commitment to national development, the group stated that it would continue to serve as a voice for peace, responsible leadership, and constructive engagement across the country.
