A federal lawmaker representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency in Kwara State, Ahmed Saba Adam, was on Tuesday publicly humiliated, booed, and chased out by angry constituents during a visit to Tsaragi in the Edu Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the situation escalated when groups of youths began shouting insults and slogans, including chants of “Ajiya Ole,” accusing the lawmaker — also known as Ajiya Shonga — of failing to deliver meaningful development to the constituency.
A video obtained by SaharaReporters captured the tense moment as the embattled lawmaker was swarmed by a hostile crowd.
In the footage, he was seen being dragged and jostled by angry youths while a handful of loyalists struggled to shield him from the mob.
As the situation spiraled, the lawmaker was reportedly forced to cut short his engagement.
He hurriedly retreated from the scene under heavy pressure, eventually managing to escape and drive away to safety, narrowly avoiding further violence.
Residents who spoke to SaharaReporters described the incident as a reflection of growing frustration and discontent among constituents, many of whom say they feel abandoned by their elected representative.
“This is not new,” another local source added.
“The same thing happened last year in Shonga, his hometown. He was chased out then too. People are angry because nothing has changed.”
The recurring public backlash signals deepening dissatisfaction within the constituency, raising questions about accountability and the widening disconnect between elected officials and the people they represent.
