Edo Trader Osifo Stanley Buys ₦100m APC Presidential Form To Challenge Tinubu

Stanley Osifo, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, has purchased the party’s N100 million Presidential expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Osifo’s acquisition of the forms signals his intention to contest the APC Presidential ticket, setting up a potential challenge to President Bola Tinubu, who picked his forms earlier in the day through a member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke.

The development was confirmed in a video shared by the media aide to the APC National Chairman, showing the payment and collection of the forms.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Osifo dismissed claims that his ambition was being backed by Tinubu, insisting he had never received financial support from the President. He said his decision to run was driven by personal conviction and not external influence.

He also maintained that endorsements by party leaders do not override constitutional provisions guiding candidate selection, stressing that he remains undeterred by growing support for the incumbent within the party.

The APC has scheduled its presidential primary for May 23, 2026.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party primaries will run from April 23 to May 30, 2026.

Presidential and National Assembly elections are slated for January 16, 2027, while governorship and state assembly polls will hold on February 6, 2027.
