We Will Deliver Tight Security For APC Convention, Says Defence Minister Musa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention is scheduled to hold from March 27–28, 2026.

Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, has vowed to deliver tight security for the forthcoming All Progressives Congress convention to ensure the maximum safety of party members.

Mr Musa, who was appointed to chair the 2026 APC National Convention Security Sub-Committee, assured the ruling party of maximum security during its convention at the committee’s inaugural

meeting in Abuja on Friday.

“For a party of the stature and national reach like the APC, the National Convention will attract thousands of delegates, party leaders, government officials, and observers from across the country and beyond,” Mr Musa said.

He added, “With the wealth of experience represented in this committee, I am confident we will deliver a security framework that ensures a smooth and successful convention.”

The defence minister said the 2026 APC National Convention Security Sub-Committee would adopt a proactive approach to provide befitting security for the party members.

“The Convention must reflect the highest standards of organisation and security befitting a ruling party and a responsible national political institution,” Mr Musa said.

He added, “Our approach must be preventive rather than reactive. Potential threats must be identified early and mitigated well ahead of the event.”
