Uk’s Ovaltine To Open £24 Million Factory In Nigeria

 British beverage maker Twining Ovaltine plans to launch a £24 million manufacturing plant in Lagos, Nigeria.

The factory will create more than 100 direct jobs and will serve as an export hub for the company’s products across the West African sub-region.


These were revealed via a statement from the United Kingdom’s Department of Business and Trade.


According to the statement, “Twining’s Ovaltine is launching a £24 million manufacturing facility in Lagos, its first in Africa, creating over 100 direct jobs and boosting the company’s exports across West Africa.


“With Nigerian firms creating jobs across the UK and British businesses expanding into one of the world’s fastest-growing markets, our partnership is strengthening both economies and delivering real benefits for people in both countries.”


BACKSTORY


Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently on a historic state visit from 18-19 March 2026, hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, England.


It is the first such visit by a Nigerian leader in 37 years, and its focus is the strengthening of bilateral ties and enhancement of trade/investment.
