Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested 53 suspected criminals and extremist elements during coordinated operations in Plateau State, intensifying efforts to restore security in the region, Rep9ja reports.
The arrests were carried out within 24 hours across Barkin Ladi and Jos North Local Government Areas under ongoing military operations.
According to reports, troops raided criminal hideouts, including a suspected drug base, where several suspects were found with items such as cannabis, mobile phones, and other materials.
In a separate operation, security forces—supported by special units and the DSS—also arrested dozens of suspected members of the Sara Suka group, recovering dangerous weapons during the raid.
The military further recovered stolen cattle and responded to security incidents in nearby states, reaffirming its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and protecting civilians.
The operation comes amid ongoing efforts to tackle rising insecurity and maintain stability in parts of North-Central Nigeria.
