Tinubu Returns To Lagos After UK Visit

 President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu returned to Lagos in the early hours of Friday after a two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.


According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the presidential aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 1:15 a.m.


They were received by top government officials, including Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.



Also present were Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


President Tinubu is expected to spend the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Lagos before returning to Abuja to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa.



During the visit, President Tinubu and the First Lady were hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at a state banquet held at Windsor Castle.


The President also held bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street.


Both countries signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) focused on port development and expanded trade cooperation, aimed at strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and the UK.



Tinubu had departed Abuja on Tuesday for London on the official visit at the invitation of the British government.
