The New York Times Reports Disagreements Between Israel And U.S. Over Iran War

The New York Times reports disagreements between Israel and U.S. over Iran war objectives

The New York Times reported on disagreements between Israel and the U.S. regarding the objectives of the war with Iran and the targets to strike, including issues surrounding the overthrow of the Iranian regime and attacks on oil storage facilities in Tehran.

According to the Times, both U.S. President Trump and the commander of U.S. Central Command, Brad Cooper, warned Israel against striking these oil facilities, fearing they would cause Iran to retaliate by attacking additional energy facilities in the Gulf.

However, Israel ignored this and struck the facilities a week ago, causing massive fires and a rise in oil prices. The White House, it was written, became convinced that Netanyahu "wanted dramatic scenes of Tehran covered in black smoke of destruction."
