The Plateau State Government has reiterated that the ban on commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as Okada, within the Jos Greater Master Plan remains in full force and is actively being enforced, Rep9ja reports.
In a public notice signed by the Commissioner for Transport, Davou Gyang Jatau, the government stated that relevant authorities, including mobile courts and security operatives, have been directed to intensify patrols, prosecute offenders, and ensure strict compliance with the directive.
The government further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement of motorcycles within the restricted areas to security agencies for prompt action.
It also clarified that the operational hours for tricycle operators (Keke) within Jos and Bukuru metropolis remain between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The Plateau State Government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining safety, order, and efficient transport services across the state.
