Mark Rutte: How The Prime Minister Of Netherlands Handed Over Power- Pictures

Mark Rutte holds the record as the longest serving Prime Minister of Netherlands. He became Prime Minister in 2010 and handed over to Dick Schoof in 2024, after a coalition led by Schoof won elections

But how Mark Rutte handed over is a lesson for African leaders. In July 2024 after winning elections, Schoof arrived at the Prime Minister's Office in The Hague for handover. Schoof and Rutte signed the handover documents, displayed the documents for the press to take pictures, after which Mark Rutte came out of the building, got on his bicycle, waved to the New Prime Minister and his aid, they waved back, and Mark Rutte cycled away to his house after 14 years in power. The whole thing did not take up to 15 minutes

Mark Rutte is now Secretary General of NATO.
