The former Minister of Aviation, Distinguished Senator Stella Oduah and one other standing trial before Honourable Justice Muazu of the FCT High Court, was today the 26th day of March 2026, discharged and acquitted on all charges. She was discharged by the court pursuant to the application made by the director of Public Prosecution, Rotimi Oyedepo, who substituted the Charge under which she was standing trial.
In the amended Charge, two companies were arraigned as defendants and the representatives of the company pleaded guilty on behalf of the two defendants. The prosecution, upon the plea of guilt by the defendants urged the court to convict the companies and applied for their winding up. The defendants counsel did not object to the application.
Accordingly, the two companies, Sobora International Limited and Global Offshore and Marine Limited were convicted by the court and ordered to be wound-up.
Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, counsel for Distinguished Stella Oduah, prayed the court to discharge his client and his prayers were granted. Wale Balogun, SAN, counsel for the second defendant, Gloria Odita, made a similar application for the discharge of his client and the application was granted.
This case that was charged to court in December 2020 has finally come to an end. The case no doubt, had political undertone and its the expectation of the members of the public that the political gladiators that have used this case to score political points will allow peace to reign.
