FCTA, Workers, under the joint union action committee, JUAC, after an early morning marathon meeting with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike at the instance of the chairman Senate committee on FCT, Senator Mohammed Bomoi.
The meeting which lasted between 11:45pm on monday closed few minutes to 4am on Tuesday morning

In a statement released shortly after the conciliatory meeting between the FCT minister and labour centres in the instance of the chairman Senate Committee on FCT, mohammed Bomoi, it was resolved that NLC, TUC and JUAC shelve their planned mega protest initially billed for tuesday, January 3.
The statement which was signed by the secretary general of the TUC, Nuhu Toro and acting general secretary of the NLC, Benson Upah, reports that all complaints of FCTA Workers were addressed one after the other
The statement reported that FCT minister Nyesom Wike agreed to mutual respect for the workers and sustained engagement.
It was also resolved that as a result of the strike no FCTA worker will be victimised
Another resolution reached was that all outstanding cases at the national industrial court to be withdrawn immediately
The meeting resolved that, consequent upon agreements reached, all JUAC , NLC and TUC affiliates are to resume work immediately, that is Tuesday, January 3, 2026.
The NLC and TUC officials also instructed all workers to comply with the resumption, directive and strike suspension order, in the interest of peace and industrial harmony
The Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC) of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja initiated an indefinite strike in June/July 2025 and continued to protest into January 2026, demanding the resolution of several long-standing labor and welfare issues.
Their core demands include:
Payment of Wage Awards,
Correction of Salary Distortions and
payments.
Restoration of Overheads
Others are Pension Remittances, Addressing Tenure Issues which includes Settling issues surrounding the prolonged tenure of directors, which has caused career stagnation for lower-level staff and Reversal of Exam Failures from a computer-based promotional exam where only 22% reportedly passed.
