Abua–Ndele Bridge Construction By Fubara

13 YEARS AFTER, HOPE RETURNS TO ABUA–NDELE CORRIDOR.

Two months after assuming office, on Friday, July 28, 2023, Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, stepped into history.

He visited the long-abandoned Abua–Agba Ndele Bridge and the Ahoada–Ndele Road project, a critical infrastructure link initiated in 2013 by former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

What he met was concerning:

A strategic bridge left uncompleted for over 13 years.

A project comprising a 1.2km approach road and a 240m-long, 9.6m-wide bridge connecting Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East and Emohua LGAs.

Communities disconnected.

Economic opportunities slowed.

Acknowledging that this corridor provides faster access to the East–West Road and Port Harcourt, boosting agriculture, trade and the movement of goods and services, Governor Fubara did not just visit, he acted.

His Excellency promptly re-engaged the contractor, Setraco Nigeria Limited.

Today, the narrative has changed: From abandonment to advancement.

From delay to delivery.

From uncertainty to progress.

Finishing touches are ongoing, and the long-awaited dream is now a visible reality.

Commissioning will follow soon.

This is governance in motion.

This is continuity at work.

This is leadership that builds on existing foundations for the collective good of Rivers State. #SimWorks

May Gov. Sim Fubara succeed.
