The United States has delivered fresh military supplies to Nigerian security agencies to support ongoing operations across the country.


The United States Africa Command, known as AFRICOM, confirmed the delivery in a post on X on Tuesday.


According to the statement, “US forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. "

"This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership.”


The supplies, which were handed over in Abuja, are part of continued cooperation between both countries aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s ability to tackle security threats.


Nigeria has in recent times been battling a surge in insecurity, with hundreds of people kidnapped in different parts of the country as armed groups step up attacks on communities and travellers.
