Ghana Man Kills Neighbour Who Tried To Stop His Suicide In Takinta

 The fishing community of Takinta in the Jomoro Municipality, Western Region, Ghana, was thrown into shock after a man killed his neighbour while attempting to prevent him from taking his own life.


The deceased, identified as Cosmos Ndah, was attacked with a machete by his neighbour, Nya Meah, according to reports gathered by  

Sources revealed that Meah had told residents he wanted to commit suicide, expressing frustration and being “fed up with life.”


A local resident recounted:


“So Meah went to his room and threatened that he was going to kill himself.”


Hearing this, Cosmos Ndah reportedly went to Meah’s house to persuade him against the act. However, what began as a peaceful intervention quickly escalated.


Eyewitnesses said:


“But in the process, a confrontation ensued, and the situation turned bloody when Meah used a cutlass to butcher Cosmos to death.”


The police have taken over the investigation and are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.


The suspect, Nya Meah, has been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.


This incident has sparked concern in the community about the handling of mental health crises and the dangers faced by those attempting to intervene.
