Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has questioned the continued silence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration over an allegation that N100 billion is being withdrawn monthly from the Federation Account without legislative approval
This was disclosed in a post on his social media handle.
Ibe referenced claims by former Kaduna State Governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Nasir El-Rufai, alleging that the withdrawals were carried out without appropriation by the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly.
He wrote: “When is President Bola Tinubu @officialABAT and his administration going to respond to the allegation by @elrufai, former Kaduna State Governor and chieftain of the @ADCNig that Tinubu caused the withdrawal of N100 billion monthly from the Federation Account without appropriation of the NASS and State Assemblies?”
He further described the alleged action as unconstitutional, adding: “By the way, the action is unconstitutional and amounts to an impeachable offence.”
Questioning the Presidency’s silence, Ibe also linked it to the President’s reported foreign trip, saying: “Or we may have to wait until his return from Turkey, which date we cannot even hazard a guess?”
