Soldiers Beat Resident In Ogun State

A disturbing case of alleged military brutality has surfaced in Ogun State, Nigeria, where an army personnel reportedly assaulted a civilian in broad daylight. Eyewitnesses say the uniformed officer descended heavily on the victim following a minor disagreement, leaving the resident severely injured.

According to residents in the area, attempts to report the matter to the local police station were met with resistance. They claim officers tried to downplay the incident, allegedly shielding the soldier involved from arrest and prosecution.

Video footage circulating online shows the army officer physically attacking the helpless man while bystanders pleaded for mercy. The clip has since sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many Nigerians calling for justice and an end to the recurring pattern of abuse by security agents.

Human rights activists have condemned the incident, urging both the Nigerian Army and the Police Force to conduct an immediate, transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

As of press time, neither the Nigerian Army nor the Ogun State Police Command has released an official statement addressing the allegations.

This incident adds to growing concerns over the conduct of law enforcement and military officers in Nigeria, as citizens continue to demand accountability, respect for human rights, and reform within the nation’s security agencies.
