Prophets who practiced polygamy: Numerous prophets acknowledged by Jews, Christians, and Muslims practiced polygamy. This includes Prophet Muhammad as well as Prophet Solomon, David, Abraham and Jacob! (peace be upon them all).

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"When a husband has two wives and does not act justly between them, he will come on the Day of Judgment with a side of his body hanging down." Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah.

Note that there's a limit a man can force a woman in Islamic Polygamy! She has the right to refuse to share a kitchen with her co-wives! And she can give up that right if she wants!
