 Terrorists Allegedly Abduct Students From Government School In Oron, Akwa Ibom

Armed terrorists have reportedly abducted several students from a government-owned school in Oron, Akwa Ibom State.


According to early reports, the attackers fled with the children toward the southern part of the area. The incident has thrown the community into panic, with residents seen scrambling for safety and some students running in fear. A police patrol vehicle has also been sighted moving around the scene as security agencies begin investigations.


While the exact number of students abducted is not yet confirmed, some residents say that not less than five students may have been taken. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement.

The Akwa Ibom state Police Command has denied the alleged attack and abduction by insurgents of four students and some teachers of Mary Hanney Secondary School (NHSS) in Oron local government area of the State.


A concerned social media influencer had raised the alarm over the infiltration by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists, claiming that several of them arrived in Akwa Ibom through the waterways of some riverine communities.
