Mutfwang's Alleged Move To Decamp To APC, Call Prof Yilwatda To Order - Group

Mutfwang's Alleged move to decamp to APC - Call Prof Yilwatda to order -Plateau group urge Tinubu

A group operating under the umbrella of Plateau Political Vanguard (PPV) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call to order the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Prof Nentawe Yilwatda over Governor Caleb Mutfwang's alleged plan to decamp to the APC.

In an open letter written to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and signed by Comrade Jones Nyimi Ferrari the spokesman of the group ,they said " We write with a great sense of duty and humility to draw your benevolent attention to the political circus currently unfolding in Plateau State, an embarrassing spectacle allegedly choreographed by the National Chairman of your party and his ever restless legion of political wanderers.

According to the open letter " The recent charades paraded as "political activities," plethora of sponsored statements and rallies with the intent of ridiculing and resisting a purported defection claim of Governor Mutfwang to the APC, have done nothing but reveal a shocking lack of maturity and foresight from individuals who ought to embody restraint and responsibility."

" Their behaviour suggests not leadership but a hobbyist's fascination with deceit and chaos, one that now threatens the fragile goodwill your government has begun to rebuild in Plateau."

" Your Excellency, it is increasingly difficult to ignore the glaring reality because apparently, the National Chairman has abandoned the dignity of his mandate and refashioned his office into a provincial weapon for settling local personal grievances."

"His actions demonstrate neither emotional intelligence nor strategic sensibility, and if anything, they expose a consistent pattern of misjudgment and ineptitude, unworthy of the position he currently occupies."

We must be blunt, with all due respect, Sir the truth remains that Nentawe can not deliver 20% of Plateau votes to you, and the 2023 electoral mathematics remains accessible for the avoidance of doubts or any ambiguity.

Sir, Plateau people are not politically naive, and their disillusionment with the APC under the previous administration was rooted in legitimate grievances; religious mistrust, insecurity, and dismissive rhetoric from senior party figures, eg El-Rufai Etal.

Yet, we must confess that your leadership style has slowly reopened a door many Plateau people had firmly shut, and more conspicuously and materially, they have watched the partnership between you and our indefatigable Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, a partnership marked by mutual respect, substance, and stability, and because of this, they are now willing to follow the Governor wherever integrity leads, not because they lack options, but because they trust his judgement and uncompromising capacity.

It is therefore unfortunate that the antics of the National Chairman are rekindling old wounds and reigniting dormant resentment toward the APC, and if the goal is to sabotage the goodwill your administration has begun to rebuild in Plateau and amongst preponderance of the Christian minorities in the entire north, then he is succeeding with remarkable enthusiasm.

Your Excellency will remember the Plateau North senatorial rerun, when the PDP candidate was excluded bearly 48 hours to the polls, and despite the disadvantage, Plateau leaders under Governor Mutfwang and Dara Jang, rallied behind a third-force candidate, and the APC still finished a distant third.

This is how Plateau people respond to political intimidation, with their votes, not with fear.

Sir, Dr. Nentawe and his perpetually petulant allies seem determined to provoke a crisis that benefits no one; not your presidency, not the state, and certainly not the party, and their motivations appear to be rooted in personal desperation rather than national interest.

However, we remain ready to work with your administration, but we will not submit to individuals who stumbled into political opportunity by fortune, yet show no humility or gratitude for it; nor will we be lectured by so-called PDP decampees who could not secure single votes in their own primaries but now parade themselves as political heavyweights.

The overwhelming majority of Plateau people stand firmly with Governor Mutfwang, and it irritates them more each day that the APC National Chairman, whose political and intellectual weight cannot hold a candle to the Governor's yet, attempts to position himself as an equal.

Your Excellency, the moment has come to place necessary caution where it is overdue.

The National Chairman must understand his boundaries, he must recognise his lane, and he must stop undermining both your political capital and the peace of Plateau State, just because he thinks he must be Governor by force.

We remain open to correction should any portion of this letter create unintended optics, they letter further reads .
