Aviele, Edo State — Tension has risen in Aviele Community, near Auchi in Edo State, after armed kidnappers released a video showing a husband and wife who were abducted earlier this week. The video, sent directly to the victims’ family, includes a ransom demand for their release.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu confirmed the development, stating that the kidnappers contacted the family and shared footage of the couple in captivity. He described the situation as deeply troubling and called for urgent intervention from security agencies.

Locals say they are worried about the increasing number of kidnapping incidents along the Auchi axis and are appealing to authorities to restore safety.
