House of Representatives Condoles With Families of Slain Kebbi School Officials, Donates ₦30 Million

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, on Monday led a high-level delegation to Kebbi State to commiserate with the people and government over the abduction of 25 schoolgirls and the killing of two staff members of Government Secondary School, Maga.
During the visit, the Speaker announced a total donation of ₦30 million to the affected families. According to him, the family of the slain Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Makuku, will receive ₦20 million, while the family of the school’s gatekeeper will receive ₦10 million.
Hon. Abbas appealed to Governor Nasir Idris to rename the school after the late Vice Principal, describing him as a man who sacrificed his life to protect the students. He praised Makuku’s record of honesty, patience and dedication, noting that his death was a painful loss to the community, Kebbi State and the nation.
The governor also reaffirmed Kebbi State’s commitment to working with the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to secure the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls.
