Insecurity: Adamawa & Yobe Governments Shut All Hostels In Secondary Schools

This is to formally notify the general public, school administrators, parents, and guardians that due to the prevailing security challenges in the country, all Boarding Secondary Schools in Adamawa State are hereby directed to transition to Day Secondary Schools until further notice.


This directive is issued in the interest of the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Compliance is expected with immediate effect.

Press Release


Yobe state government has directed the closure of all boarding Secondary Schools in the state as a proactive measure to safeguard students in the schools.


The decision followed the outcome of a security meeting between the Governor, His Excellency Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN and Security chiefs in the state, reviewing security incidences in schools in some parts of the country.


A notice signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr.Bukar Aji Bukar, directed immediate closure of all secondary schools pending improvement in the situation.


Governor Buni called on the people of the state to pray for the leadership, security operatives, peace and improved security in the country.
