Chief Adviser to Adamawa's PDP Gov. Fintiri defects to APC
A founding member of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Joel Madaki has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC as political activities in Adamawa State gathers momentum.
Chief Madaki, a former PDP Chairman in Adamawa and Chief Adviser to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, announced his defection in Yola.
Madaki said his decision was borne out of the desire to contribute his quota to the development of Nigeria, an opportunity that only the APC provides
During the formal reception in Yola, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Comrade Salihu Mustapha, described Madaki’s defection as a welcome development and a boost for the ruling party at the national level.
However, the development has not gone unnoticed by the PDP.
In a swift reaction, the party leadership in Adamawa convened a solidarity gathering at the Government House in Yola, where a large crowd of PDP supporters from Fufore local government where Chief Joel Madaki hails from reaffirmed their loyalty to the party.
Receiving the supporters, PDP State Chairman, Hamza Madagali, maintained that Chief Madaki’s exit would not weaken the party in any way.
Political observers say Madaki’s move may signal shifting alliances ahead of future elections in the state, but both parties insist they remain confident of their chances.
