Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Apams Funeral Limited, Dr. Kevin Chukwumobi, has expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians for the overwhelming support they have given him and his company over the years, a support he said has been the backbone of Apams’ growth into a national brand.

As part of the activities to mark his 55th birthday and over 30 years of service as a funeral undertaker, Dr. Chukwumobi noted that the remarkable journey of Apams could never have been possible without the trust and patronage of Nigerians from different walks of life. According to him, once people confirmed the company’s competence and professionalism in handling funeral services, they entrusted Apams with the delicate responsibility of caring for the remains of their loved ones, and the company has continued to deliver with excellence.

Continuing, he said from Lagos to Abuja, Uyo to Delta, and across every state in the South-East, Apams has become a household name, rendering funeral services in nearly every corner of the country where elaborate burials are held. The company’s footprints, he said, extend far beyond its traditional bases, reaching states like Kogi and Plateau, where Nigerians of different cultures and traditions have relied on Apams to give their departed loved ones a befitting farewell.

Dr. Chukwumobi, who hails from Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, attributed this wide acceptance to the company’s consistent mastery of its trade and its determination to professionalize and elevate an industry that was once looked down upon. He emphasized that young Nigerians must take their craft seriously and become masters in their chosen fields, as competence remains the surest way to earn trust and sustain patronage.

Further reflecting on his own journey, the Apams CEO recalled that it was not easy to get people to accept funeral services in their current professionalized form. He said, however, persistence, excellence, and a deep understanding of the business gradually won over skeptics and built confidence in the Apams brand. And today, the brand has not only survived but has flourished into a trusted national enterprise, reshaping the way funerals are conducted in Nigeria.

At 55, Dr. Chukwumobi said he feels profoundly grateful for the support Nigerians have shown him and for the opportunity to serve them in their most vulnerable moments, adding that their acceptance and patronage remain the greatest gift he has received in his decades-long journey as a professional funeral undertaker.
