Two TikTokers Remanded for Allegedly Accusing Mohbad’s Widow Wunmi of Murder — Full Court Details Inside

In a shocking legal twist, two controversial TikTok content creators, Saheed Jamiu Osama and Uyime Godwin Udoekwere, have been remanded in custody by the Federal High Court in Lagos for allegedly accusing Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, of murder. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The viral accusation came after the duo staged a public protest, brandishing placards that read:

“Wunmi Killed Mohbad! Period! E No Go Better For Wunmi!”

The placards and protest video quickly made the rounds on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), sparking heated debates across Nigeria’s social media space. Their statements were seen as defamatory and sparked widespread public outcry.

Legal Fireworks Begin

Presiding over the case, Justice Ibrahim Kala charged both individuals with conspiracy, cyberstalking, and defamation. They were arraigned in court on multiple counts tied to their viral claims and digital content, which prosecutors say amount to character assassination and incitement.

Both TikTokers have been ordered to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre until their next court date, scheduled for September 25, 2025.

Legal analysts say the case could become a major precedent on the limits of free speech in Nigeria’s digital space, especially in the age of TikTok activism.
