PDP National Secretaryship Now Resolved

The matter of the National Secretary of PDP has been resolved judicially by the Supreme Court judgment of March 21, 2025, and politically through the stance of a Governors Forum Committee, National Reconciliation Committee, and National Caucus. INEC, the electoral commission, and all key actors on both sides have agreed that Senator Samuel Anyanwu is the National Secretary of the party.

While INEC, the Bukola Saraki led Reconciliation Committee, and most party members based their decisions on the PDP Constitution and the Supreme Court ruling, the anti-Anyanwu faction led by Governors Peter Mbah and Seyi Makinde came to terms with reality when a committee of three governors, which they appointed and included Peter Mbah and the National Legal Adviser as a coopted member, consulted INEC. The electoral commission confirmed to them, contrary to the misinformatio

n fed by their sycophants, that Senator Anyanwu has never lost his position as the National Secretary of PDP since December 10, 2021.

The position of INEC, alongside that of the Bukola Saraki Committee, was presented at the reconvened National Caucus meeting on May 27, 2025, where members unanimously affirmed Senator Anyanwu as National Secretary.

Consequently, the NEC meeting of May 27, 2025, set aside discussions on the alleged communique from the Peter Mbah led Southeast stakeholders meeting. This stance of the NEC was captured in the communique read by the visionary Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum.

At this juncture, it is both foolish and absurd for anyone to debate what is now a settled issue. Any further dissenting opinion on the Secretaryship of Senator Anyanwu is akin to a fool attempting to drain the Atlantic Ocean with a teaspoon.

The focus moving forward is on the need and methods to reconcile all factions within the party and support the reforms of Acting National Chairman Damagum and the patriotic National Secretary Anyanwu to realize the benefits of the ongoing reforms within the party.

MODIFIED

On May 27, 2025, when PDP held its reconvened National Caucus Meeting, the sole purpose was deliberating on the National Secretaryship of PDP and adoption of this report (attached).

1. Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State visited INEC to confirm the rightful occupant of the National Secretary position of the PDP. INEC verified it is Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.

2. When the report was presented at the National Caucus meeting, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, moved the motion for its adoption. The motion was seconded by former Governor of Niger State, Chief Servant Babangida Aliyu.

3. Following the motion for adoption and its secondment, there was no dissenting voice. The report was unanimously adopted, conclusively settling the issue of the National Secretary of PDP.

4. One might question why those who previously misrepresented the legal and constitutional position on the National Secretaryship have now gone silent about the National Caucus outcome. Why have these anti-Anyanwu actors failed to brief their sycophants and lapdogs on the results of the meeting? If they truly cared about the party’s progress, they would have acted accordingly. Their silence speaks volumes about their real agenda!

5. I have named specific individuals, and I challenge any of them or any Caucus meeting participant to dispute these facts.

As I have consistently maintained, there is no vacancy in any position of the National Working Committee until December 9, 2025.
