House of Reps members, Peter Akpanke (PDP) & Nnamchi Paul (LP) Defect To APC

 Peter Atianashie Akpanke, a first-term member of the House of Representatives representing Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency of Cross River State has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) today. He further thanked the PDP for allowing him fly the flag but stressed that protracted crisis in the Party had necessitated his defection.



Nnamchi Paul Sunday, a first-term member of the House of Representatives representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State also dumped the Labour Party, citing the leadership crisis in the Party.


It can be recalled that Nnamchi, a Professor in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, was sacked by the tribunal before his reinstatement by the Lagos Appeal Court in November 2023. He defected to the APC today.
