Authorities have identified the co-pilot of the Air India flight that tragically crashed near Ahmedabad as Clive Kunder, a 34-year-old First Officer from coastal Karnataka

Kunder had logged approximately 1,100 flight hours, just shy of the 1,500 hours typically required to qualify as a commercial airline captain. Despite his relatively limited experience compared to the captain, he was a trained and certified pilot serving with Air India.
The flight’s captain, Sumeet Sabharwal, had over 8,200 hours of flying experience, making him a highly experienced commander at the helm of the aircraft.
Both pilots were among the 241 passengers and crew members who lost their lives in the crash. Only one person—a 9-year-old girl—survived.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, with authorities examining possible technical failures, human error, and environmental factors.
