Bet9ja Foundation: Giving Real Support Where It Matters Most
Since its inception, the Bet9ja Foundation has remained true to its goal, supporting Nigerians in the ways that matter most. From helping students stay in school to organising football competitions and providing healthcare to communities that need it, the Foundation is making a difference, state by state, project by project.
So far, it has carried out over 100 projects in 29 states, reaching more than 150 communities and investing over ₦500 million in real impact.
Here’s a closer look at what the Foundation has been doing under its five key focus areas:
1. Education Development
Education isn’t just about classrooms, it’s about opportunities. In 2024, the Foundation undertook over 18 educational projects in eight states, ranging from ICT and communication training in Imo to addressing the shortage of medical staff in Enugu. Each project is designed to provide students with real opportunities to grow, learn, and discover their path in life.
2. Sports Development
Sports bring people together, build discipline, and open doors to new opportunities. With 26 sports projects across 11 states in 2024, the Foundation has backed grassroots football matches, boxing competitions, marathons, and even supported Nigeria’s Para-Powerlifting team at the 2024 World Cup in Egypt. From Lagos to Anambra, and even as far as Yobe and Port Harcourt, sports are being used to inspire and uplift.
3. Healthcare Development
When it comes to health, small things can make a big difference. In 2024, the Foundation completed 23 healthcare projects in 7 states, providing medical services, supplies, and support to those who need them most. From eye care outreach programs in Cross River and Abia to hygiene drives in Gombe and maternal health support in Osun and Ogun, the goal is simple: to help people stay healthy and live well.
4: Community Infrastructure
Many communities simply need necessities, such as light, clean water, and safe spaces. With 35 projects across 20 states in 2024, the Foundation has installed solar streetlights, built boreholes, and improved access to water in areas such as Imo, Kogi, Anambra, and Kaduna. These changes might seem small from the outside, but for the people who live there, they change everything.
Young people in Nigeria are full of ideas, energy, and dreams. The Foundation ensures that those dreams receive the support they deserve. Through 30 empowerment projects in six states in 2024, it has provided vocational tools, including sewing machines, clippers, and laptops, and hosted programs such as the Graduate Employability and Entrepreneurial Summit and the Young Executive Program. It’s all about helping young Nigerians build something for themselves.
The Bet9ja Foundation isn’t doing this for headlines. It’s doing it because it believes in Nigeria and its people. It believes that real support is quiet, steady, and focused on what people need.
