The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is set to lead a national prayer session dedicated to seeking divine intervention for the restoration of Nigeria’s economy amidst growing economic hardship and inflation across the country, Newspremises has gathered.
The announcement was made on Friday, June 28, during a press conference held in Lagos. Speaking through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Adeboye disclosed that the church’s July 2025 thanksgiving service, themed "Divine Intervention", will focus on prayers for national economic transformation and expansion.
The service will be held at the RCCG national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.
Nigeria’s Economy Under Pressure
The prayer initiative comes at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with the harsh realities of economic instability. The nation's surging inflation has significantly impacted the cost of living, disrupted supply chains, and increased unemployment—worsening the overall quality of life for millions.
Addressing these issues during the press briefing, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the importance of faith, unity, and positive thinking as spiritual tools to drive national progress.
“Our nation, as well as others around the world, is experiencing a difficult time. But these challenges are not insurmountable. By faith—and without entertaining doubt—we can overcome,” Adeboye stated.
He called on all Nigerians to abandon negative speech and embrace faith-filled declarations that can inspire both personal and collective transformation.
RCCG Mobilizes National Prayer Network
Pastor Adeboye affirmed that the RCCG is taking deliberate steps to mobilize nationwide prayers throughout the second half of the year. A special prayer team has been commissioned to intercede for national issues, including the environment, agriculture, and climate-related concerns.
“Once you plant, you need the environment to support growth. That’s why we’re also praying about weather, clemency, and the right conditions to support national prosperity,” said Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, RCCG.
He further noted that divine opportunities are unlocked through spiritual connection, and that only those who align with God's plan will fully benefit from the transformation.
Faith-Based Solutions for National Rebirth
As part of the Divine Intervention service, the RCCG leadership believes that God can reverse Nigeria’s economic downturn, unlock divine opportunities, and usher in a new era of abundance. The church is inviting all citizens, regardless of religious affiliation, to join the prayer effort in faith and hope.
Adeboye’s initiative is one of several faith-led responses to the ongoing economic crisis, reflecting a growing belief among religious leaders that spiritual revival is key to national recovery.
