Tina Knowles put on a united front with her ex-husband Mathew Knowles
During the hometown stop of her Matriarch book tour at the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land in Houston, Texas on May
5, the 71-year-old and moderator Kelly Rowland surprised the crowd with his arrival.After the record executive—who shares daughters Beyoncé and Solange Knowles with Tina—took his seat, the author expressed her gratitude for his decision to join her.
“Cause both of us, neither one of us has every bad mouthed each other, ever and I would never do that,” Tina—who was married to Mathew from 1980 to 2011—said via a TikTok video captured by a fan. “And I said, ‘You know what we should do to show this united front, you know you should come down and come on stage.’”
During the appearance, Mathew and Tina spoke about raising their daughters and working together to champion the success of Destiny’s Child. Putting their bond on display, Mathew sweetly walked Tina and Kelly to the front of the stage as he gave the audience words of encouragement, before hugging them both and making his exit.
The music mogul’s supportive move comes a week after he publicly celebrated Tina—who reacted to the #1 New York Times Bestseller status following the book’s release.
