Nigerian National Among The Three Arrested For Drugs In India

 The anti-narcotics task force of Chandigarh Police arrested three individuals, including two foreign nationals, for their involvement in drug peddling activities. The case was initiated based on an FIR dated May 1 under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.

On April 30, ASI Narinder Pal, during a patrol near Govt Model High School, Sector-38 West

Chandigarh, received a tip-off regarding one Ashwani Kumar alias Ashu. Acting swiftly, the police apprehended him and recovered 14.83g heroin, Rs 5,000 in drug money, and two mobile phones.


Based on his interrogation, another accused, Joe Joshap (a Nigerian national), was arrested on May 1 from Shivalik City, Kharar. Police recovered 9.77g of ice-amphetamine from his possession.


Further investigation led to the arrest of Rehema Nabusuulwa alias Martha alias Branda (a Ugandan national) on May 3 from Sector-127, Mohali. She was found with 11.93g ice-amphetamine, two mobile phones, and a digital weighing scale.


The accused reportedly sourced the narcotics from Delhi-based suppliers. All three were presented in court and remanded to judicial custody.
