As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāh!
According to the calendar, Eid al-Adha is likely to fall on Friday, June 6, 2025. May Allah allow us to witness this sacred day in sound health, strong faith, and abundant provision. Ameen.
Many people are feeling anxious this year the price of rams and livestock has skyrocketed. Some are worried they won’t be able to participate in this noble act of worship.
But take heart: Islam is ease. If you can’t afford a ram on your own, you can still earn the reward by contributing to a group sacrifice. Here's how:
✅ Who Can Share in a Sacrifice?
Camel: 7 people
Cow: 7 people
Ram: 1 person
Goat: 1 person
Yes, 7 people can share the reward and cost of a cow or camel — so gather your friends, family, or neighbors and fulfill this Sunnah together.
🐐 Age Requirements of Animals
Make sure the animal meets the minimum age:
Camel: 5 years
Cow: 2 years
Goat: 1 year
Sheep/Ram: 6 months (if it looks like a 1-year-old)
❌ What Invalidates a Sacrificial Animal?
The Prophet ﷺ taught that the animal must be healthy and free from major defects. These include:
Blindness or clearly impaired vision
Sickness or disease
Lameness that prevents walking properly
Emaciation with no marrow in the bones
(See: Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim)

💡 Reminder
You may not be able to buy a ram alone, but don't miss this opportunity. Sincerity and intention are key. If you pair up with others and fulfill the Sunnah, the reward is yours just the same.
Let us prepare for this blessed day with pure hearts, good intentions, and grateful souls. 🌙
May Allah accept our sacrifices and worship. Ameen.
