The Emir of Daura , Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar on Thursday paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari following his return from France.
Buhari had travelled to France to testify in the ongoing arbitration case involving the $6 billion Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project.
Nigeria is accused of breaching the terms of the power project contract awarded to Sunrise Power and Transmission Limited by former President Obasanjo in 2003.
Buhari’s testimony is a key component of Nigeria’s defense.
Obasanjo also journeyed to France to testify in the case.
Both Buhari and Obasanjo have denied authorizing any agreements or settlements related to the project.
Before departing to France two weeks ago, Buhari had visited the Emir in his palace to notify him of the journey.
Buhari returned to the country on January 25.
