Television host Nick Cannon, 44, has revealed his diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) during a candid discussion on his Counsel Culture podcast.
Known for being a father to 12 children with six different women, including Mariah Carey and Bre Tiesi, Cannon shared insights into his mental health journey.

While volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission on Thanksgiving, he told People magazine about his long-standing suspicion of undiagnosed mental health conditions.
I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests,” Cannon explained.

He also mentioned previous diagnoses of ADHD and childhood dyslexia, describing himself as a “neurodivergent individual.”
According to medical experts, NPD is characterized by an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and a tendency to seek attention, with potential difficulties in empathizing with others.
While typically considered a lifelong condition, symptoms can improve with intensive therapy.

Cannon expressed a positive outlook on his diagnosis, viewing it as an opportunity for personal growth.
“I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help. Show me.’ I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way,” he stated.
